Job Description:

DreamWorks Dedicated Unit at Paprikaas Interactive Services is looking for a Senior Network Engineer, Architect or Manager with significant experience in a Linux and/or Unix environment. This position requires an individual to work independently and with team members local and abroad to provide support for all aspects of computer networking. This is to include design, implementation and maintenance for the entire network infrastructure.

• Configure networking devices to ensure optimum performance and reliable connectivity.
• Evaluate business requirements and propose recommendations on network design.
• Evaluate products, draft purchase proposals and present recommendations to fulfill business needs.
• Develop and maintain written operations procedures for network management processes.
• Perform physical connectivity tasks for all networking equipment.
• Develop software tools to monitor and maintain network infrastructure.
• Analyze performance data to optimize network utilization.
• Perform general Linux administration as a working member of the engineering systems team.

This senior-level position requires a candidate to have at least eight years of computer networking experience, with at least four years in a predominantly Linux or Unix environment. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This is a hands-on position where the candidate must have the following technical capabilities:

• Solid understanding of rapid spanning-tree (802.1w), 802.1Q VLAN tagging and Ethernet trunking.
• Complete knowledge in OSPF routing, calculating variable-length subnets and maintaining route maps.
• Ability to design and maintain redundancy at OSI layer 2 and 3 (VRRP, HSRP, etc).
• Strong experience maintaining access lists for quality of service and traffic restriction.
• Experience with firewall products and understanding of IPSEC.
• Ability to build administration scripts in one or more of the following: perl, python, csh or bash
• Proficient with Red Hat Linux: rpm installation/removal, use of checkconfig and how to restart services.

• Bachelors of computer science or information systems to complement experience.
• Experience administering an Internet-connected address space.
• Experience with highly-available networking systems.
• Experience with Cisco ASA and/or PIX.
• Experience with Foundry Networks switches.
• Experience with iSCSI, NAS and/or SAN.
